Big business is targeting liberal Democrats who are hostile to its interests, presenting those Democrats with a wonderful fundraising icebreaker: “Yeah, you know those corporations that have already bought our entire government and are running our country as a plutocracy for their own evil ends? They’re trying to boot me out of office. Won’t you help me tell them no, once more?”
Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid is struggling to stand out in the race for governor, overshadowed by the massive attention given to his father’s bid to stay in the U.S. Senate.
The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza says Democrats are gaining momentum, with Nevada’s Senate race the No. 1 example.
Politico reports that the National Republican Senatorial Committee has brought in a media professional to advise the campaigns of Sharron Angle in Nevada, Carly Fiorina in California and the Republican nominee in Washington state. First lesson for Angle’s team: Ignoring calls doesn’t hurt reporters, it hurts your campaign!
