The Family Research Council, a Christian group that opposes gays pretty much all the time and in every respect, has a new ad up attacking Harry Reid for his support of repealing the noisome Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. And it’s a whopper. Take a look:
So, here’s my thought: You have gays and lesbians in American who want to sign up for our all-volunteer armed forces, during a time of war, when it’s highly likely they will be shipped overseas to fight in Afghanistan. And these gays and lesbians are willing to volunteer to fight for a country in which — in most states — their fellow citizens use the Bible and the ballot to deny them to right to marry the person they love. But still, they want to sign up to fight and serve their country. If that’s not the very definition of nobility, I don’t know what is. I tip my hat to them, because they are doing more than most of us to serve and protect our country.
