Angle’s modern-day welfare queens: The unemployed

Would-be U.S. senator Sharron Angle says we’ve “spoiled” our workers by offering unemployment compensation to those laid off by no fault of their own. Sharron Angle’s affiliation with the Eagle Forum is extremely distasteful to me as a woman who has faced discrimination all my life. To see that she isn’t even quizzed on her feelings about women in the workplace and her definition of what a “traditional” family is troubles me. Why has the media avoided these topics? They do matter. Often women who become unemployed aren’t even eligible for unemployment or they are treated much more harshly by the system.
